Manager, Creative Strategy & Branding
The ASPCA is seeking a Manager, Creative Strategy & Branding to join the Communications team, which partners with departments across the organization to create visual resources that consistently reflect the ASPCA’s mission and impact, align with our branding, and enable our teams to share information about our people and programs in a clear, concise, and compelling way.
This individual will collaborate with others in the Communications department (external, internal, and professional-facing communicators), as well as with other departments throughout the ASPCA to creatively and strategically support and evolve the organization’s branding efforts.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, this individual will work closely with team members to create branded ASPCA materials, edit videos, build relationships with internal partners and external vendors, keep projects organized and on track, and help maintain and enforce the ASPCA Style Guide and associated resources. This position requires someone who is a creative thinker, strong collaborator, and effective communicator with elevated project management skills.
We are looking for a team member with previous graphic design, video editing, and production experience who can not only help us develop assets, but also manage the production process to expand our reach and elevate the ASPCA brand to our staff, volunteers, community members, clients, and partners.
This remote-based position is open to all candidates based within the United States.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Graphic Design & Video Editing (60%)
Conceptualize and design branded assets that simplify complex concepts, data, and stories into informative, digestible materials that clarify our mission and impact for our target audiences (staff, volunteers, clients, community members, professional audience, partners)
Work collaboratively with ASPCA program teams to design and produce print and digital communication materials including but not limited to: flyers, brochures, programmatic marketing materials, social media graphics, signage, and branded products
Edit videos (trimming, overlays, captions, simple animations and transitions, etc.) and optimize for use on various internal and external channels
Engage fully in the creative process, applying feedback and providing revisions in a timely manner
Asset Management & Production Support (30%)
Manage the creative process from start to finish, ensuring that key stakeholders review and approve assets, project objectives and deadlines are met, and all designs follow the ASPCA Style Guide
Provide production support to the Communications team and program partners with print and digital projects by coordinating between ASPCA staff and external vendors
Respond to creative request form submissions and other requests that come to the Creative Strategy & Branding team in a timely manner
Provide feedback to help improve and streamline internal processes for creative requests and project management
Propose and develop content for cross-functional use across various communications channels
Ensure that the ASPCA Style Guide and associated resources are consistent, up-to-date, and follow industry best practices
Research content management and production trends and raise new ideas, technology, and processes to the Creative Strategy & Branding team
Empower ASPCA staff to be brand ambassadors through creative guidance, hands-on training, and customized learning resources
Participate and contribute updates during Communications departmental meetings and work cross-functionally with other members of the team
Engage in consistent and regular reporting to supervisor, including giving and receiving effective feedback
Research and participate in both hands-on field and office classroom learning and share professional development/learning opportunities with the rest of the team, as appropriate

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
Experience in graphic design, content management, and video and/or print production is required.
Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of pace, timing and the best ways to grab and hold viewer attention, Ability to meet deadlines and work quickly under pressure, Ability to share knowledge and train others in best practices and protocols a plus, Experience conceptualizing and editing videos (including adding titles, graphics, and transitions) and exporting in optimal format for various channels, Experience designing and producing print collateral materials (postcards, brochures, web reprints, multipage layouts, folders, tent cards, etc.) for marketing, live events and digital distribution, Experience with branding and ability to adhere to company design guidelines for brand, style, colors, fonts, etc., Experience with or ability to learn new platforms, technological processes, applications and content management systems, Must demonstrate ownership and the ability to manage projects through to completion, Organized and detail-oriented with ability to effectively prioritize projects and deadlines, Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and a working knowledge of PowerPoint, Sophisticated sense of digital design, composition, typography and strong, strategic conceptual skills, Strong relationship-building skills, specifically with internal partners, vendors, and contractors
