As a Corporate Counsel with 6 River Systems, you will lead contract negotiations, build the playbook to improve collaboration with the commercial team, and partner with the General Counsel to provide advice on a variety of legal and business challenges. In this new position, you will:

Negotiate Various Agreements: Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements including master purchase and software licensing agreements and statements of work, in-bound license agreements, strategic partner, professional services, subcontractor, consulting and nondisclosure agreements
Build the Playbook: Organize and build a library of templates and playbooks for use by internal colleagues, refine our contracts, and streamline communication with the commercial team
Improve Contract Management: Assist the General Counsel with the identifying a contract management system and define processes for managing contract lifecycles to ensure version tracking, validation of execution versions, and organization of executed contracts
Support with Legal Issues: This will include assessing and mitigating data privacy risk, ensuring regulatory and product liability compliance, researching and managing employment, intellectual property and other discrete matters
Build the Team: Identify and manage a future Contract Specialist as we expand the Legal Team

What you’ll need day one:

Substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements, such as software and other licensing arrangements, including agreements for SaaS and other cloud-based services, hardware purchases and sale agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and other technology-related offerings
Experiencing negotiating and drafting agreements with attention to detail
Ability to build and maintain trust with the internal teams by providing support proactively and in the moment
Experience with contract management systems, preferably supporting with the implementation or improvements
Learning mindset, resourceful approach, and interest in understanding our business
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences including sales, finance, and HR colleagues about complex legal situations using simple language
A solutions-oriented mindset, and a can-do positive attitude to support the business, and help the team, while thriving in an ever-changing environment
