Community Manager

Since March 2020, we’ve educated 5,000+ students on strategic decision-making frameworks through our proprietary “sprint” product delivered by world-class business school professors. Now we’re expanding our product to other distinguished professors, authors, and practitioners to deliver elite business strategy education to today’s business leaders at a fraction of the cost.
Are you high-energy and people-centric? Do you love to help others collaborate and connect with each other? Are you passionate about compelling, clear, and empathetic communication? If this sounds like you, bring your community-building talents to our team! We are seeking a Community Manager to oversee and support our vibrant Sprint communities. You will be the face and voice of Section4 to our Sprint students, ensuring that our online community experience advances learning outcomes, scouting out compelling stories to highlight, and helping our students grow their networks in meaningful ways.
What you’ll do:

Be the voice. Manage day-to-day communication with Sprint students over virtual platforms like Slack. This includes answering logistical questions and moderating conversations to ensure respectful interactions.
Be the champion. Write concise and engaging messaging that motivates students and helps to keep them on track with important course announcements.
Be the advocate. Observe behavior and listen to students’ needs to identify opportunities for a streamlined experience that is responsive to their pain points.
Be the storyteller. Identify the most compelling ideas and stories from the student community and strategize how to amplify these to advance student learning outcomes and grow the Section4 brand.
Be the MC. Facilitate live events like networking sessions, live lectures, group discussions, and more.
Be the architect. Strategize empathetic, inclusive, and fun ways to nurture community and grow student engagement.

Who you are:

You have 1-2 years of work experience in community-building, relationship-management, social media, or a similar space.
You’re a gifted relationship-builder who is energized by others, eager to make connections between like-minded people, and able to quickly develop a strong rapport with both individuals and large groups.
You’re a talented communicator across mediums (Slack, email, phone, video-conferencing, etc.) and you bring enthusiasm and an engaging personal voice to all of your conversations.
You’re an empathetic and patient listener, able to help students in our Sprint feel valued and, if needed, ready to calmly diffuse contentious conversations.
You have excellent task management skills and can stay on top of many simultaneous conversations occurring through different channels.
You can think on your feet and make quick decisions and adjustments to respond to the needs of your community.
You’re comfortable working outside of standard business hours for event facilitation or community support when the situation requires.
You’re tech-savvy and able to get comfortable quickly with new platforms.
You believe in the power of community and love to create accessible, memorable, magical experiences for others.

Bonus points:

You’ve managed and/or moderated an online community.
You’ve worked with a community in the education space.
